Happy New Year and Selamat Hari Raya Aidiladha

Goodbye 2006
Its gonna be 2007, and what a year 2006 has been. It is the last ever year that I’m calling myself a TEENager. Well, I’m an adult now. I’m gonna start acting like 20 year-olds.
Anyway 2006 was a year so many things happened. Here are some highs and lows:

Highs:
1) I graduated from ITE West Clementi with the Higher NITEC. Within weeks, I was accepted in Republic Polytechnic. This was probably my biggest achievement this year.
2) First overseas trip with the Musketeers to Kuala Lumpur. Bangkok is the next trip in 2007.
3) Highlighted my hair for the first time. Actually this year alone, I can’t remember how many times my hair changed. From this color to that color, from this style to that style.

Lows:
1) I was dumped and all heartbroken for the first time in my life. This was probably the biggest upset this year.
2) France lost in the world cup final. My favorite team has never won when I want them to. Remember Zidane’s head butt?
3) Had my first ever accident on a bike.

Hello 2007
I ain’t gonna talk about new year’s resolution cos I don’t want to disappoint myself if things don’t go my way. Past year’s resolutions made was not always met so I’ll cut all the what-I-want-to-achieve-next-year crap. It’s better to talk about something after you’ve finally achieve it. I’ll just gonna prove to others my worth by showing them what I’m made of. You’ll see.

Happy New Year and Selamat Hari Raya people.

Boring holidays

Had a great dinner at Chicago’s Steakhouse over Cathay Cineleisure for my good friend’s so-called last dinner on Thursday. His NS is unfortunately starting this Saturday. Pity him. Anyway there was only the two of us (Mail and me, Roy couldn’t attend), and we ordered quite a big meal which was rightfully meant for three, so just imagine how full we were after the meal. Lamb and Salmon, and the humongous BBQ ribs (similar to Cartel’s St Louis except it’s not pork). Sounds nice huh? Well it was okay, filling and satisfying, and the taste was not so bad. Just 2 things that were not okay: 10% service charge and 5% GST. But hey I’m a typical Singaporean. Act high class, but don’t want to pay.

After the meal, we went for some pool over Park Lane and also met up with Darren. Darren is a friend of Mail, and I used to work with him during those Raffles Hotel days, so that makes him a friend and ex-colleague too. Hmm it’s complicated lah. Had a few games till the place was virtually quiet and damn dark. It felt strange playing pool with your table the only one lighted up and the rest of those 20-plus tables empty. Scary! Scawy! (Read: Raje) But who’s stupid enough to have a pool game in the middle of a Thursday night? Unless of course, if it’s us. But hell, we continued playing even though it was seemingly lifeless in that pool place. We switched on our MP3 and blast the music throughout the whole place and of course sang loudly. “Make the place like our father place like that.” Haha. It was fun. It felt like playing at the comfort of our home.

The term break has officially started but I still don’t know how to spend it. Those plans I’ve made are just summer winds or fart or I don’t know what you call it. Plans that are made just to be called plans in the end? Haizzz boring.

Holidays holidays

The term break is here! Finally. No more torturous wake-up call at 630am for school. No more dreaded-sleepy journey in 963 and sardine-packed 169. No stupid PBL (Problem-Based Learning for your info, sounds nice but in fact it is stupid). No Science and Math, which has nothing to do with my course. No really-stupid RJs. For a month, at least. To be honest, I did not learn anything in school. Simply because it is self-learning. Sometimes stupidity gains in this world. And in this case, the whole system is stupid.

It is now time for module selection for next semester. And the funny thing here is, there is no choice at all! You cannot even select what you want to learn for next semester. Then why the hell do you call it module SELECTION?! Here stupidity plays its part again. (Shakes head)
The reason I am staying is just that I do not want to let my parents down. But what the heck, it is the holidays man. Talk about school? RP for that matter? No thanks.

I just hope that the class chalet, the trip to Batam/Bintan, the Star-Cruise holiday, and the KL trip are not cancelled. Those were the plans that my classmates and me came up with, and I’m deeply hoping that it will go on as planned. Please save my holiday!

I cannot wait for my Blucisive reunion on the 15th. (If the booking goes well lah.) It has been a while since I hangout and played with my football Kakis. We used to play football almost every week during those secondary school days when I was still slim and goal-hungry (I used to score 3-6 goals in a competitive match). But I am a veteran now; my legs cannot carry itself much. Hehe, I love self-compliment.
Anyway the reunion will be played on The Cage, Kallang. The cool thing is The Cage comes with turf flooring, a private locker room/toilet where balls and bibs will also be provided. Rain or shine the game still goes on. Cool huh? Cannot wait man! But what is not cool is it is 180 bucks for 2 hours of play! Expensive man! Guys, $15 please!

I just hope this time round my holidays would not be a bore like it has always been. I hope.

(I’m missing you so much. I really do. Hope you’re doing fine.)
